Privacy Policy

Last updated

This policy explains what (run by , "we") collects and how it is used. In short: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no cookies. We only store what you choose to share.

What we collect

What stays on your device

Python, Lua, and JavaScript run entirely in your browser, so what you type, print or enter as input is not sent to us. For C, C++, and Rust, only the source code is sent for compiling. The program then runs in your browser, so its input and output stay on your device.

Third parties

To load the editor, the Python runtime and fonts, your browser requests files directly from jsDelivr and Google Fonts. Those services receive your IP address and browser details under their own policies. We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.

Sharing and passwords

Anyone with a snippet's link can open it until it expires. Links are hard to guess but they are not secret. A password limits who can open a snippet, but the code is stored on our server unencrypted and we may be able to read it, so never put secrets, credentials or personal data in a snippet. When a link is pasted into a chat app or social site, that app may fetch the page and show a preview with the first lines of the code (not for password-protected snippets). Snippets can also be embedded in other websites.

How long we keep things

Snippets are deleted automatically at the expiry you choose when sharing. We may delete them sooner, for example when storage is full (oldest first) or to remove content that breaks our Terms. The compile cache is cleaned automatically. We don't keep backups of snippets.

Your choices and rights

To have a snippet removed, email us the link. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to how it is used. Email us and we'll respond. Because we hold no account data, we may need the snippet link to find what you're asking about.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect data, including salted password hashing and access limits, but no service is completely secure.

Children

The Service isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above. If we add accounts, payments or other features that collect more data, we'll update this policy first.
