Terms of Service

Last updated

These terms apply to your use of (the "Service"), run by ("we"). By using the Service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your local law requires.

1. What the Service does

The Service is an online code editor. Python and JavaScript run in your browser. C and C++ code is sent to our server to be compiled, then runs in your browser. You can also share code as a link (a "snippet") with an expiry time and an optional password.

2. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the code you share. By sharing a snippet you give us permission to store it and show it to anyone who has the link (and the password, if you set one) for as long as it exists, and you confirm you have the right to share it. Anyone with the link can view, copy, run and embed the snippet, and chat apps may show a preview of it. A password limits who can open it but does not encrypt it, so never put secrets in a snippet.

4. Code from other people

Snippets are written by other users and we don't review them. Code runs inside your browser's sandbox, but you run it at your own risk. Don't run code you don't trust, and don't enter passwords or personal information into a program you didn't write.

5. Automatic deletion

Snippets are deleted automatically when they expire. We may also delete content at any time, for example when storage is full (oldest first) or when it breaks these terms. We don't keep backups, so keep your own copy of anything you care about.

6. Limits and availability

The Service has limits on request rates, snippet size, run time and output size, and these can change. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, and we don't promise it will always be available.

7. Copyright and takedowns

If you believe a snippet infringes your rights or breaks these terms, email with the link and details. We may remove content and block users at our discretion, and we will remove infringing content when properly notified and may block repeat infringers.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that code will behave the same in every browser.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, or lost profits arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

10. Termination

We may suspend or block your access at any time, especially if you break these terms. You can stop using the Service at any time.

11. Changes and future features

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Service means you accept the changes. If we add accounts or paid features, additional terms will apply to them.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of , without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless your local consumer law says otherwise.
